Where Kelu focuses differently
Built for customers, not only employees
Gemini helps employees inside Workspace. Kelu ships a hosted widget for your docs or product site, a form deflector, and Slack and Teams bots for community and customer channels. Workspace content can be a source; Kelu is the assistant that answers from it in public.
One knowledge base for your docs stack
Gemini in Workspace works on Workspace content; reaching other apps means adding Gemini Enterprise. Kelu connects the sources a docs and support team uses — docs sites, GitHub, Notion, Confluence, Drive, OneDrive, help centers and solved tickets — into one knowledge base and keeps them in sync.
Support Ticket AI inside your helpdesk
Kelu answers tickets inside Zendesk, Intercom, Freshdesk, Front and Linear when your sources cover the question, and tags the rest for a person. Draft only mode leaves answers as private notes for agents to review. Different job from an employee assistant.
Priced by plan, not by employee
If you already pay for Workspace, Gemini comes with it, priced per employee. Kelu is a separate cost, with a $0 free plan and Pro at $99 a month — and you don't pay per reader for a customer-facing widget.

Frequently asked questions
Should I use Gemini for Workspace or Kelu?
If your use case is 'help employees do work faster inside Gmail, Docs and Drive', Gemini is well suited and already comes with most Workspace plans. If your use case is 'answer questions from our docs on our site, in Slack and Teams, and inside our helpdesk', Kelu is built for it. Many teams use both.
Does Kelu index Google Drive and Docs?
Yes. The Google Drive source indexes the folders and files you pick — Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, PDFs and Office files — read-only, through the Google account you connect. It can only index what that account can open. Files re-sync every 10 minutes. Google Drive is on Pro and above.
Can I use Gemini inside Workspace and Kelu for customers?
Yes — they're complementary. Gemini helps employees write emails and summarise Docs; Kelu answers your customers on the widget, in support tools, and over MCP for AI tools.
How does pricing compare?
Gemini is included in Google Workspace plans, which are priced per user: Business Standard is $14 per user per month on an annual plan. Gemini Enterprise, Google's agent platform with third-party integrations, is quoted separately. Kelu is Free, Pro at $99 a month ($79 billed yearly), or custom Enterprise, independent of your Workspace subscription.
How is data handled?
Your indexed content and end-user conversations are never used to train models. PII masking is set per knowledge base and covers indexed content and questions from the widget, SDKs, public chat API and Ask; zero data retention is a per-workspace setting. Google also states that Workspace data is not used to train Gemini models.
