Where Kelu focuses differently

01

Built for your users, not just your employees

Glean is built first for employees signed in through your company's SSO. Its Web SDK can serve guests, but only on a deployment that supports external search. Kelu serves both audiences from the start: a public widget, API and bots answer your customers and developer community, while the internal Ask assistant with per-knowledge-base permissions serves your team.

02

An MCP server per knowledge base

Every Kelu knowledge base can have its own MCP servers (search_<name>_knowledge_sources, ask_question, list_sources, feedback). Hand out a client key, or let readers sign in with Google or GitHub, and Cursor, Claude Code or VS Code can search your docs. It is on every plan, Free included.

03

Self-serve with transparent pricing

Kelu publishes all plan limits and prices openly, with a free plan that includes 1 knowledge base, 500 indexed pages and 100 AI questions per month. You can evaluate the full platform end-to-end without a sales conversation or enterprise procurement cycle.

04

Citation-grounded RAG

Answers link to the exact source passages they used. When your content doesn't cover a question, Kelu says it doesn't know and shows no citations, instead of guessing.

Frequently asked questions

How is Kelu different from Glean?

Glean is an enterprise AI search and assistant platform for a company's internal work apps, licensed per user with no public prices. Kelu focuses on developer-facing docs AI and customer-facing support — a public widget, open REST API, Slack and Teams bots, helpdesk answers and MCP servers — with an internal Ask assistant included, and public pricing with a free plan.

Can Kelu replace Glean for internal knowledge?

For many teams, yes. Kelu ingests GitHub, Notion, Confluence, Google Drive, OneDrive and more into internal knowledge bases, and workspace members query them through the internal Ask assistant or an Internal MCP server in their AI tools. If your main need is personalized search across a very large set of enterprise apps, Glean's catalog of 275+ connectors is much broader.

Does Kelu support enterprise security requirements?

Kelu supports OIDC and SAML 2.0 SSO on Enterprise, per-knowledge-base permissions, internal knowledge bases with no public surface, PII masking and zero data retention on every plan, an activity log, and a GDPR DPA. Its SOC 2 Type II audit is in progress, with no report yet. Glean already lists SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, ISO 42001 and HIPAA.

Does Kelu support the same integrations?

Kelu ships a web widget, a support form deflector, Slack and Microsoft Teams bots, an open REST API with WebSocket streaming, an MCP server per knowledge base, and Support Ticket AI in Zendesk, Intercom, Freshdesk, Front and Linear (tickets) and Freshchat (live chat). React and JavaScript SDKs are on npm.

Do answers include citations?

Yes. Each answer built from your content links to the exact source passages it used.

Is my data used to train AI models?

No. Your connected content and your users' conversations are never used to train models. Content is indexed only to answer questions for your knowledge base. PII masking and zero data retention are available on every plan.
