Index a OneDrive through Microsoft 365 for AI-assisted answers

What is OneDrive?

OneDrive is Microsoft's cloud file storage, part of Microsoft 365. Teams keep policies, handbooks, and internal guides there as Word documents, PDFs, and spreadsheets. Kelu indexes one OneDrive, or one folder in it, through a Microsoft 365 app registration, so those files become citable knowledge.

Integration

How Kelu works with OneDrive

Everything you can do once the integration is connected.

01

Microsoft 365 app registration

Kelu connects through a Microsoft Entra ID app registration with the Files.Read.All application permission — no individual user password is needed.

02

Drive or folder scope

Index a whole drive, named by a user's email or a Drive ID, or just one folder in it such as Documents/Handbook. Subfolders are included.

03

Office files and PDFs

PDF, Word, Excel, CSV, HTML, Markdown, and text files are indexed. Files over 32 MB and files with no readable text are skipped.

04

Frequent sync and restricted visibility

OneDrive syncs every 10 minutes. Add the source to an internal knowledge base to keep its files for workspace members only.

Setup

How to set it up

  1. 1

Register an app in Microsoft Entra ID, add the Files.Read.All application permission, and have an admin grant consent.

  2. 2

Create a client secret, then add a OneDrive source in Kelu with the tenant ID, client ID, and client secret.

  3. 3

Enter whose OneDrive to index (an email or a Drive ID) and, optionally, a folder. Test the connection and add the source.
